The Girls' Lacrosse team throws candy to the crowd aboard their circus-themed homecoming float at Wednesday's parade.
Happy homecoming, Cavs! Although this year’s homecoming schedule was unconventional, the student body did not disappoint. Students showed their school spirit all last week, making it another jam-packed week of school pride and Texas traditions.
Homecoming spirit week this year was another success. From decking out in camo on Monday to representing their class colors on Friday, the student body showed their school pride all week long. The celebration came to a peak with the homecoming parade and extravaganza on Wednesday evening. The entire community gathered along the parade route to show their Lake Travis spirit, and the post-parade pep rally was no exception. LT Men’s Lacrosse and LTHS Varsity Cheer were announced as the top two favorite parade floats.
To finish off homecoming week on a high note, the Cavaliers won the homecoming football game 42-7 against Midland on Friday. The last home football game ever played in Cavalier Stadium before its reconstruction, students decked out in red, white, and blue to cheer on the Varsity team.
At halftime, the winners of the 2025 Homecoming Court were announced. Ben Duncan and Parker Clowe took home Senior King and Queen among the other three couples who were nominated. The Homecoming Princes and Princesses were Connor O’Neill and Savannah Smith for the junior class, Cooper Offield and Barbara Gomez Michel for the sophomores, and Matthew Ozuna and Avia Peretz for the freshmen.
Finally, it wouldn’t be a homecoming week in Texas without seeing mums everywhere. Although the actual homecoming dance is still a month away, Cavaliers are already looking forward to “Lights on the Lake” at The Oasis on October 18th. Towards the end of the week, students exchanged decorative mums with their dates and wore them to school to commemorate homecoming.
School construction and changes in the Lake Travis community might not have made for the most ideal homecoming week, but it was no less spirited and exciting than previous years.
